Things Have Changed
We're in a New World, and We're Used to It.
Most of us went into 2020 with high hopes for another great year.
Suddenly COVID appeared, and our lives changed. We all experienced a roller coaster of emotional ups and downs, and we're wiser because of them.
What didn't go up and down was the real estate market.
In 2021, both Summit County and Fairplay's real estate markets continue to operate at a brisk pace. Like many parts of the country, demand is high, and inventory is low.
We continue to see three buying trends:
Buyers wondering, "What are we waiting for?" and moving ahead with a purchase they may have been putting off for years.
2. Buyers working remotely and making a move.
3. Investors who understand the unique elements provided by the area.
There's less focus on the short-term rental potential of homes; it's often more about acquiring a home than a rental's return on investment.
